Makena Pike

I joined Willamette’s overnight Emergency Department in Summer of 2019 after moving from San Francisco, CA with my (now) husband and Cocker Spaniel, Benjen. After a transformative year of skill building and navigating lifesaving treatments, I joined the ICU Department and fell in love with continuous, critical care. During my time as an ECC care provider, I was given the Lead position to support my teammates on shift and aid management. In Summer 2021, my family grew, and we adopted my large Lab Mix, Baloo.  In the Summer of 2023, I moved into the position of Medical Operations Manager to build a team of sustainable, passionate, knowledgeable, and incredible veterinary support staff. I am eager to transform the culture of Veterinary Medicine into one of community, ongoing pursuit of knowledge and uplifting medical excellence.
